Plenary six: The Challenge of being a patient
Wairangi Jones is an elder and speaker for the people of Tuhourangi Ngati Wahiao here in Rotorua. This is an area that stretches from the peak of mount Tarawera, across lakes to the steam, boiling mud and hospitality of the village at Whakarewarewa. His knowledge of the Māori world is a strong base for his work as a cultural advisor and trainer.
He's in the double digits as a cardioversion recipient. A frequent visitor to ED at Rotorua hospital he brings to the conference a raft of patient experiences with the medical teams and their expertise.
